I read with some interest historic comments regarding Dean's Marine's service, and felt I should comment. They mentioned rude service some 6 or so years ago.
There is one individual there who should either leave or be retrained in customer service. He is extremely rude and insulting. I am a relative newbie to the hobby, and with him giving advice through emails, I almost felt like giving up. Denigrating is not the word. I was preparing to spend a lot there, but this person dissuaded me from doing so, and lost Dean's about £600.
However, I have to say it is not all bad at Dean's, as I went online, and ordered some of the parts I had wanted through the site, and paid, and have had lovely contact and professional service since with others, and courtesy, which is what I expect for my nearly £500 order. One rotten apple can spoil the barrel, so if you have insults thrown at you while asking questions via email, it could well be the same person.
So, a mixed bag. Would I order there again? Yes, if online, a lot of stock. Would I contact via email for advice? No, never!
