Thats pretty amazing!

If i were your next door neighbour, and saw a lifeboat being built in the garden, i would be slightly worried!!

A very fine skill you have there.

No pictures of the drive as I haven't yet decided what is going to power her. Probablly a pair of BIG 24 volt motors turning 8 inch diameter props on 1 inch diameter shafts with a couple of truck batteries(lots of amps!) as the power source. I'm in no hurry to finish the build, it will take as long as it takes.

If you are talking about this video then, yes it's one I built a couple of years ago at 1/6th scale.

The build log is on Mayhem here:     http://www.modelboatmayhem.co.uk/Modellers/Mike_Pendlebury/1ndex.htm

Are you going to RC it, or sit inside the thing and control it from there?

No more progress as yet, I keep getting sidetracked with building models for other people !! The monster will be controlled, eventually, by me inside, no radio involved.  :-))

The latest build, apart from the  long term build of the Trent for Dan (Fatcat), has been a Schutz class minesweeper.

:-)) Hi Mike, fascinating boat, love your devotion, if you want to sail it on a 1/4 mile long lake, then you would be welcome at Killingworth Lake here in the North East.  We have a ramp down to the water where you can drive your trailer into the water so launching your MODEL with ease.  Ample car parking next to the water.  Let me know when you wish to visit and I'll arrange suitable publicity.
Build them Big, send me a pm for further details

MAGIC,
If you need a lake to sail it on, come and join us at Killingworth, just outside Newcastle Upon Tyne, the Geordies will make you most welcome, lake is 1/4 mile and has a boat launching ramp and great parking.

Hi there. I'm originally from Scarborough and if I was ever to build a lifeboat it would be the Mersey class type based there. Are there any kits? Nice G scale by the way.

Yes Martin that's the 1/6th scale boat, trailer and Talus I built many moons ago.  :-))

It was sold to a guy in Scotland who has since sold it ot a guy in Bridlington not too long ago. He contacted me recently to ask about the model as it is now in need of a lot of TLC to return her to her original state.

Nice to see that she has returned to the East Coast and not far from where the full size boat is based in Scarborough.

I am told the only thing missing is the trim tab & figures,in which the man from Scotland will find and send on, but everything else is there,a lot of hours to put it back to a good standard is required, but who knows hopefully there will be someone somewhere willing to take it on.
