Food at Windermere

I know this section is about boat building but I doubt you lot would notice this in "Club Events"  - anyway -

A subject close to my heart (probably too close) - food.
For those braving the wilds of Cumbria this weekend and going to Windermere, a quick heads up on the food situation.
There is a little kitchen with serving hatch where a lovely lady (I think it's Phil Hill's wife but don't quote me) serves tea, coffee and soft drinks all day (Sat and Sun) as well as bacon rolls, beefburgers and crisps.  The prices are almost loss making as she does it for the pleasure of seeing us boaters well fed  O0

As if that wasn't enough - there is a buffet held after the racing on Sat afternoon (about 5'ish) where there is LOTS to eat (bring your own cans of exotic "fruit juice"  ::) ::)
The cost of this princely fare is £5 per head and saves the trouble of having to hunt down a restaurant in the evening - leaving more time for SERIOUS drinking!

If you wish to partake of the buffet, it would help Alan Baldry (who's organising it) if you let him know of your interest.  His email is
[email protected]

By the way - for those I don't already know - what are your OMRA numbers? Then we can all look out for each other.  Mine's pretty obvious  ;D ;D

See you there

Danny

Hi Boatmadman
The Windermere event is an "offshore" boat race run by OMRA on Sat and Sun this week.
see http://www.omra-uk.com  for details of what we get up to.
If you're near the Windermere Powerboat Club at Storrs Hall (a couple of miles south of Bowness)  pop in and see us.
