The side lift motion by chain is great Bob

Are you using just one servo drum [endless?] for the lift raise & lower?...[we just see a glimpse of the drum to the left for a second]

If so, an ACTion P96 Servomorph would give you great control over adjustable [desired] speed and chosen set points [totally repeatable]

Could certainly be wurth reading the spec sheet

https://www.componentshop.co.uk/pdf/pdf.jpg

Any tendency for the drive to hop or jerk, could be countered by adding some sheet lead into the base of the lift floor plate fo add to stability

Derek
No servos were harmed in the making of this lift. I tried all sort of methods, including servo slower, but it is not effective when trying to control two servos.. Solution is two small high torque right angle gearboxes, running at 3 RPM, no other electronics need, simply on/off/on switch and a twin relay. Works a treat ,if possibly tad slow but that can be changed later, this at least proves the system.

Thanks Bob...well explained

...the proof is in the pudding & the end result is

..I do not think the raise/lower speed is too slow... Derek

Well latest up date on the QE, built two of the three working HF antennas, they are raised and lowered copying designs used in Ark Royal, Eagle and Victorious, rack and pinion and on the model controlled by individual servos, all linked to a three legged Y lead, Waiting for the servo morph to come back into stock then I can adjust the speed and throw, eventually control will be a on/of switch.

These, the anchor and the lift all look great in motion. The speed of the lift if a bit slow, but like you say, you can adjust it, and you do not want it too fast, or everything that travels on it will become VTOL!

Love it Bob

Love to see your working features - it’s little things like this that make the model special.

Now got all the HF Antennae working under r/c control from a rotary switch on the tx, just needs linkage tweaking and job done, quite pleased, speed is set from watching ARK Royals in action

I like how the pivots are slightly loose as that will protect them from inevitable knocks breaking the pivots or their mounts. Just wiggle them into alignment and they look just right

When I need to adjust motor speeds or simply voltages in general, as long as the current draw is low, I have used this Buck Converter, which works beautifully and is very inexpensive. https://www.mpja.com/Adjustable-15-37V-DC_DC-Buck-Converter-with-LED-Volt-Meter/productinfo/30149+PS/ You may find it to be just the ticket for your blast deflector motor.

Hi thanks for the post, not to sure what you mean as i have not mentioned blast deflector motors, they are a static item.

My mistake! So sorry, I confused the lift and anchor with the deflector.... although that would be quite a feat.I actually use one of the converters to power and adjust the speed of my anchor winch on my rescue salvage ship. They work beautifully as power supplies for LED s as well.

Rob47 · « **Reply #195 on:** July 15, 2020, 08:33:18 pm »

hey no problem, the lifts work brilliant now using 3rp hi torque motors, one each side. I use a similar device to adjust current, cost about £2 and are absolutely brilliant.

It may look brutal, but this is the start of the main embarkation port, a similar one will also be added to the port stern side. the whole in the sponson is for the 45 foot launch. 35 foot work boat, these are held in side the sponson, very similar to the current QE, once in the water the accommodation ladders can be lowered for access to the launch Not decide if I will have this as a working feature yet
