Hi All,

Sometimes when Im building my models - I listen to varying kinds of music Phil Collins to classics, but, what I do find very relaxing is my selection of Audio tape stories - amongst them I have The Cruel Sea read by Robert Powell, Sink the Bismark, The Red October, The Dam Busters etc.

With regard to story tapes. I am very lucky a friend of mine has been collecting them for years mainly from charity shops and now has a fully catalogued collection. Every couple of months on request he will bring me over some I have not listened to.

Like you say John very relaxing.

Yours Colin H.

And here is me being simple minded thinking that this thread must be about music coming out of the model!
If that is the case then I can state that "Bismarck" has lots of WW2 "tunes" blasting out of it on her meanderings around the lake. Similarly, we have a couple of ships of "Scottish" origin that belt out whatever "Jimmy Shand and his Band" wish to offer. I love the idea but am not too sure about the choice of music.

There is a guy in our club who used to have a model of the Radio Caroline ship.  It used to play 60's records and sound clips from Radio Caroline and sounded and looked superb.

Super Furry Animals for me.
Even their recordings in the Welsh language are mind blowing.
(Make mental note to start Welsh class again when time allows).

The high piched whine of my Proxxon drill, the industrious buzz of my mini sander, The faint roar from a boiler raising steam and the earnest thump of a small steam engine, Also the dulcet tones of my daughter telling me to stop making so much noise ( she is in the room directly above my workshop)

Larry, what on earth caused you to 'find' a two years dormant thread ?
I'm curious as it happens quite often.

He doesn't realise it was dormant, he's a really slow reader!  {-)
