Hello everyone


Can anyone here on the forum recommend a company that does really nice custom work  auto cad / laser cutting service . I am looked to do a scale model build of a vintage race boat   Any help would be appreciated

I can do laser cutting, if you supply the files

Two companies which will do laser cutting are
Belair http://www.belairkits.com/ and SLEC http://www.slecuk.com/

They will produce the CAD files from a plan and then cut the wood. I have not used either for laser work but they both have good reputations, especially Belair in the aircraft community.

SLEC can also do CNC-routing which is handy for thicker sections of plywood. I can personally vouch for the quality of their work.

Just to add, for completeness if anyone looks again, York Modelmaking also seem have a good reputation in other modeling circles for custom work including CAD and LASER cutting.  Never had any custom work but I did order one of their N gauge footbridge kits a few years back and the detail and quality of cutting was really quite exquisite on such small-scale parts.
