International Model Boat Show 9 - 11 November 2007

The International Model Boat Show is set to return to the Warwickshire Exhibition Centre, near Leamington Spa from the 9 th - 11 th November 2007. As the only 3 day marine modelling exhibition dedicated to all aspects of marine modelling, visitors are guaranteed a packed hall with club displays, demonstrations and specialist suppliers.

This unique exhibition features displays by a variety of clubs and societies with some of the finest marine models on show. The displays range from modern power boats to early warships, with dedicated enthusiasts on hand to give practical advice on marine modelling. The excellent and varied display of static models is complemented by action on the two boating pools. Experts will again be on hand to answer any questions from the visitors and demonstrate their skills in the craft of boat building and knot tying. A total of over 700 models will be on display from the twenty six clubs present.

Visitors will also have the opportunity to purchase whatever they need from the vast variety of products offered by the comprehensive selection of over 30 specialist suppliers. Everything from a single anchor to an entire kit.

Show Director, Chris Deith explained;

“We are delighted that the International Model Boat Show is now regarded as the premier model boat show in the UK . We are looking forward to presenting another action packed and fun event for everyone”.

Special Feature at the Show – Oared and Rowing Boats

The International Model Boat Show organised by Meridienne Exhibitions is this year hosting a special display of Oared and Rowing Boats for one day only on Saturday 10th November.

This special gathering of oared and rowing boats provides an ideal environment and perfect location for these unique models being an indoor exhibition with a large pool, not affected by the weather elements.

The models will have a special display table and two dedicated sailing times on the pool during the day.

If you would like to bring your models please contact Avril Spence at Meridienne Exhibitions by email avril@meridienneexhibitions.co.uk.  Avril would like to know details of your model and a picture if available as well as your postal address so that she can liaise with you for the paperwork.

All models must be booked in with Meridienne prior to the event and an entry form must be completed and returned to Avril so that the models are covered for insurance purposes.
Only pre booked models are permitted to take part in this special feature - no models arriving on the day will be permitted to participate.

Marine Modelling International is pleased to support this special event and will be offering five subscriptions to the owners of those models judged as best in class.

Hi All
The Blackheath model power boat club has a stand at the exhibition, which I will be manning, those from the mayhem weekend will reconise me by the hat, steam oil up my nose and a pair of waders ready for futher salvage operations (sorry Kenny)and of course my prized springer (of which there were a few at the Beale Park weekend)
Drop by for a chat, and who knows you may want to build a straight runner for the next Mayhem weekend !!!!!

I am going to be there for all three days (glutton for punishment) will have a couple of springers with me. Hopefully Sat/Sun we can have a football match if there are other springers there. I asked the organisers about this and they say that there will be a board besides the pool just pick a free time, or let them know in advance. Remember if you want to use your springer in the football it has to be there all three days.

Martin,

You need to check with Meridienne that you can take the boat for just the two days. All exhibiting model boat clubs have been told that all boats MUST remain there for all three days. They have a pretty tight security system for entering and removing boats as they insure our boats whilst they are there.

 :) :) :)Hi Barriew

You are right about taking models to Warwick that are not with a club display.Tried this 2 years ago and they would not let me take my model in to the show. Things may have changed  but it  is worth a phone call  to confirm.
