 8)    Rock n roll  d.j.   My other interest in life is 50's rock n roll , which after a long long time playing c*;p i now only play aforsaid rock n roll. This has resulted in working various rock n roll clubs and various rock n roll weekenders around the u.k, and occasionaly abroad, never thought that so called wasting my life in the fifties and sixties would end up funding my proper hobby of boat building. any way of to devon next week for another weekender, its a rotton thing but someone has to do it.                                              regards.....bob.

Rock N Roll has had a big resurgence here in Australia too. In fact here on the Gold Coast there is a big R n R festival called "Wintersun" where there are street parades of 50's cars and rock and roll dancing in all the clubs.

O0   Hi david, hows things in aus ?.  Brother in law lives in melbourne   heading into your summer now isnt it, its turned to c"*p here now. As regards rock n roll i dont think it ever went away. the club scene is very strong here and there are so many weekenders. Its nice to see so many youngsters getting into "our music", its the youngsters who will keep it going.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              regards bob.

Hi Bob

Yes Summer is here and so is the humidity. Oh well, it seems that us humans are never satisfied no matter what the wheather is. All the clubs here have at least one nite a week RnR dancing and some even more. But the "Wintersun" is a week or so of everything 50s & 60s and all the clubs get involved. people come from everywhere. The effort that is put in is fantastic.

Hi John

No, summer is just starting its about 23C at the moment and that is a little chilly for us. Around January is when you start to feel it warm up. Usually around 40-45C. It is really funny here almost everyone still has a Hot Christmas lunch, you know having the oven on 250C from 8am when the temp is about 35C, doesn't make sense does it. And yet all the shops have frosting on their windows, Who are they kidding :D :D :D

DJRobbo, I had a snoop at your profile page. I don't know where you're from, but if ever you're near Taunton check out the club house tucked just off of Priory Bridge Rd.

Ah, sunny Goodrington. I went to that exact same holiday park when I was a sprog.
Taunton is approx. one hour's drive from G'ton and probably a bit far out your way for a one-off knees-up, but there are a bunch of locals still pretty much into the R & R scene. Rock-a-billy stuff. Most of 'em even have the oldie white-wall tyres on their cars.
There's also a pub just off M5 junction 24 - they also congregate there.

By the by, I'm not sure if it's still there, but Goodrington had a neat boating pond the last time I looked.

Keep on keeping on, amigo.
