Is this a kit available ?
« on: September 28, 2007, 03:16:46 am »

Hi guys, does any one here knows if this is a kit or self made fishing boat model ? The photo is found in Ron Harabin's story on Boat Convention Annual Show days ago.

It looks familiar. I tried Billing Boats and Mount Fleet but not goal.

I believe this is a kit but sadly the owner left the club several years ago  :'(  so I can't confirm it.

If it was a kit the 2 photo's are showing different boats ( different hull lines and details ). I think the top one is scratch built from  a set of plans for a 1960's era Seiner/Trawler similar to a couple of models i've seen online

The picture was taken at Birchwood this year.  Surely someone who was there can at least recognise the club stand that it was on?

Thank you guys, for the information so far. I say I finally found a friendly forum as here. It is not like those others where I felt not quite comfortable.

I wonder whether the boat in question is the 'Eileen'?  I think I bought this plan from the  'Model boat' plans book from the late eighties.  The only trouble is the amount of junk in the loft making a full search impossible.   ;D ;D

Using Kiteman1's post as inspiration I checked my MAP plans handbook from 1974 (yeah sad I know) and found MFV Launch Out plan MM/1134 the photo of the model (black and white not very good detail) has the same registration KY496 as the subject boat - so I guess there is a good chance it's the same one  O0

The model plan is for POF and 27.5" long with a beam "just over 8 inches" - note the qotes

The plan is available here for £14.95 + P&P

Hi all,

It's definitely not Eileen/Hellen same boat, as she had a bigger set of fish boxes, and the winch was aft of the boxes.
