Hillyard 3.5 ton yacht + Free 3D files
« on: August 20, 2022, 06:39:40 pm »

Finally completed today, a wee (1:87 scale) model of a Hillyard yacht that I made from a 3D scan of a hull on a quayside. Full details (and free 3D files for printing...) available here!:

Pretty neat. Given the scale is it correct to expect its future residence is on a model railway layout?

I'm not really a model train guy; my day job involves a lot of models at 1/87 so I end up just using the scale as a standard. Most of my other model boats are also in that scale so it fits nicely into the set, so to speak. Plus, it doesn't take up endless shelf space, something that's at a bit of a premium in my flat!

Ah, okay. That all makes sense, especially the part about space in flats.
