Help! Raboesch bow thruster parts...
« on: November 18, 2019, 04:51:37 am »

I have a Raboesch 108-03 thruster mounted in a hull, but now I've sold the house, packed, moved, unpacked, and restarted the build... and find that I can't find the rubber seal and screws for the thruster. Grrr.

I do see that I can order a spares kit, "108-06"... but it doesn't seem to include the missing 4 screws. As the thruster body is already mounted in the hull, I don't want to take a chance jamming the wrong size screws into the body (which is still, um, virgin, having never seen a, um, screw...). Too small, it falls apart, and the boat sinks... too big, I split the housing, and the boat sinks...

Can anyone tell me the absolutely correct screw size? The still-unused holes are 2.3mm... maybe they take a 2.7 screw? Or a 3mm screw?

Thanks everyone!
From Raboesch themselves:  Screws are not offered separately (why??), but they are M3x6 stainless Pozidrive self tappers. I know I can find some Philips versions in plain steel in my parts bin, but if I order a minimum of the right screws online, plus the 108-06 spares kit to get the o-ring, I'll spend nearly as much as just buying a new bow thruster.

Moral: Keep your in-process build supplies neatly sorted, and don't lose them in a move!

That is true of so many things these days. New thrusters are probably discounted but spares are not.
