FrSky Taranis X9D and X9E / Shannon Builds

The Old Fart:
As some of us are building the Shannon Lifeboats using the FrSky X9D or X9E transmitters, I thought that we could exchanges programming tips, examples etc in this thread.

I purchase my X9e from Hobbyking, but had to get the X8R receivers by searching the net. They need to be the 'EU LBT' type, but they can be reflashed, according to youtube.

It's a mode 1, but can be changed in the program, and centering spring is available from banggood. Or swap the gimbles over.

More programming info please as I am struggling with getting my X9E sorted out for even basic control. For my new rescue boat, (twin jet drives but no bow thruster). Any help will be greatly appreciated.
