What adhesive?

Having a problem with attaching etched brass to plastic, thin superglue is not working, thick superglue destroys detail. Am I making a basic error?

Have you tried giving the etch brass a little rub with sandpaper on the surface that needs the glue?
Gives it a keyed surface to grip to.
