1.  I'm waiting for the iceberg kit to come out first .....
2.  I bought the kit but some lifeboats seem to be missing.
3.  I bought the kit but  but some of the hull plates seem loose.
4.  I bought the kit but when I open the box, it keeps playing the Celine Dion flute tune.
5.  I bought the kit but there's no binoculars for the lookouts included.

... is that enough already?!   :P

Martin its a one peace hull 53 inches long there is a up date kit of figures you can buy  them two standing at the hand rail at the bow, the band playing music, its a before the iceberg kit think one officer has binoculars, but the will have to play your own Celine Dion cd, The Titanic lit comes with lots of LED,s fittings to light it up some over the top in size.

A lot of pennies for a injection moulded model plus all the costs of shafts props r/c gear etc. But if that's what you want go for it.

Hi Stan,
Yes a lot of pennies but if  took two years but its so big and so much detail of me it would take more I think  so may be a £2 or £3 a week kit/hobby you have made some amazing plastic magic how much is a pint of beer I don't drink or a game of golf not that I play ( would sooner eat my own liver) but all to our own I think model boating is a great cheapish hobby.

I’ve been working on mine since FEB.

I made my own 2mm prop shafts and I’m using the kit wing props , centre is a brass four blade.

How are you planning to make an access to the inside without having to lift the whole deck?

Hi Plastic,

I plan to lift off the super structure as per the photo, I’ll be using Stan’s method he used on his Yamato build, ie magnets.
The power on/switch’s are hidden under the fore cargo hatches.

Hi Howard,
It’s a latching micro switch, for switching the LEDs on. It works in when the rudder trim is set to max it gives the servo extra throw to activate the switch an put the lights on. As its a latching switch , I can then de trim and the lights will stay on until I trim the servo again to de-latch and switch’s off the LEDs

Also when I’m at one of our SWA shows I can use it to manually switch the LEDs on and off.

How crazy would it be to drill out all the portholes in the hull?

Hi Plastic,
On her two sister ships I don't think there's any need as I think there painted them over in the there war paint camarflarge but lot are saying they should be on the Titanic.

I do know some modellers have drilled ALL the port holes out and are having them back lighted.

But as Howard said Britannic in her HMHS role porthole would have been painted out, but as she was in the Med there were open porthole along the front lower decks, which tilted underwater within minutes of the explosion. The nurses had opened most of those portholes to ventilate the wards, which was against standing orders.

I saw a review of this kit on You Tube where it was pointed out that not all ports should be drilled out as not all would be lit. Not all cabins were occupied so no lights and crew working areas would not necessarily be lit at night.
