Hitec Servo with Acoms Radio Control
« on: October 09, 2007, 08:46:39 pm »

Hi All

I am sure someone knows the answer to this. I have a Hitec servo in a springer but I want to fit a two channel Acoms Radio Control to it. The servo is impossible to get out without chainsawing the deck off, yeah I know should have thought about the possible need to replace it. So can I use the servo with the Acoms radio control? I know I might need to change the wires in the plug, but is there any other problems?

When I still used my trusty old Acoms, it used to work with any servos i tried it with.

Doubtful you'll have any problems, just makes sure the wires tally up.

The only likely difference is the shape of the plug moulding as all manufacturers try to lock you into their range.  A bit of minor surgury with a craft knife and sandpaper will ensure that your plug fits into the new socket.  As subculture says, just make sure the wires go in the right order.  The keyways in the plastic moulding make sure you can't get it wrong, but when you have removed them to fit the plug in the hole, you no longer have that safeguard.

Thanks for the info guys, I can put my chainsaw away. I thought there might not be a problem, but it is always nice to check with people who actually know.
