Sorry Martin - this should be titled

How NOT to make a smoke generator!!!

So many things wrong with this video that could cause serious harm or risk of fire...

Initially the guy tries to pump air down the smoke outlet  - that should concern you a lot and set the alarm bells ringing....

The "low Ohm" coils (often called sub Ohm - have a resistance of less than 1 Ohm) that he is using probably have a resistance measured in single Ohms - so all but a short - no battery will like that and there is a risk of the battery exploding if connected directly to the coil - and if you were using a LiPo - then I think we all know how the story could end

The current flow will be substantial - look how thin the wiring is - won't take much for those wires to glow red hot - any hands / fingers / surfaces beware

A typical current handling of that type of mini push button switch is 50ma

But the most significant thing is that this type of vape coil is not powered directly from  battery  - that is not covered in the video

Please DO NOT CONNECT THIS TYPE OF COIL DIRECTLY TO A BATTERY

Inside the handheld unit of the original smoke device is a control board that pulses (PWM) the power on and off via a MOSFET to the coil - the concept a bit like a dimmer switch or an ESC

True, but you can incorporate the control in your own build I guess
.... but the video is a concept idea, make your own to your own standards

....... many boats don't a fuse .... anywhere!

The other problem. You take C3PO advice and use all the electronics in side the vape unit. OK that fixs one problem.
The second one is . You dont see people holding down the button on one of thoes vape units for a prolonged period of time. If they did the coil would over heat.  So you get smoke then none. Then smoke then non.
There are better and safer stuff out there .

Quite apart from the problems of the current draw being vastly more than the switch can handle (I haven't measured a vape element, and don't really intend to), it can only produce continuous smoke for a short time without having a considerable reservoir.  Running out of coolant, it will dry out and for a short time produce real smoke.
Just running a 2S ESC on 4S will probably have the same effect - a single use smoke generator.

The e-cigs I have (10 motives) do not have any circuit board inside, just a small dark object that activates the coil (and a blue led) when air is sucked through it. Using one of these would require some kind of air pump to work. As mentioned above, they are obviously not designed for long periods of operation. I have quite a few of these e-cigs if anyone wants to experiment. They have a 280mah cell in them and last for 2 days worth of vaping. I can send you one if you send me a stamped self addressed envelope, PM me if interested.

Oh, making a smoke generator out of an e-cigarette is a pretty neat trick! I actually tried doing something like that for a party once. I found this old vape pen I wasn't using anymore and thought, why not turn it into a cool effect for the party? It was a bit of a DIY adventure – I had to fiddle around with the parts and do a bit of trial and error to get a decent amount of smoke. It ended up being a hit at the party, creating this eerie, foggy atmosphere.

Yeah, for sure the videos are instructive and very helpful. But as much fun as it was to experiment with the e-cigarette for the smoke generator at parties, I have to say, I'm not a huge fan of them for regular use. I much prefer my go-to flavored vapes from https://nexussmoke.com/collections/air-bar. But as a one-time experience for a party or a special effect, e-cigarettes can be pretty fun and useful!
