Dave Milbourn Funeral Arrangements
« Reply #50 on: March 13, 2021, 08:17:06 pm »

Liz Milboun has now sent me details of Dave’s funeral plus arrangements set up to make donations in his memory.

The funeral will take place on Monday 12th April at 13:30pm at Gedlington Crematorium. There will be an online webcast which can be accessed from the following link:

https://www.obitus.com/

Username: nocu1410
Password: 330991

You can check the link any time in advance for a test transmission and it is usually advised to log in at least 5 minutes before the ceremony is due to begin.

Liz and the family have asked that, in lieu of flowers, you can donate if you wish, to the Nottinghamshire Hospice or to Cancer Research. An obituary link has been set up which gives the option of either via Just Giving:

David sounds like one of those people you wish you had chance to speak to.

My condolences go out to his family and friends. If he was replying to messages right to the end then that is a beautiful demonstration of  his generosity of sprit.

Sad to hear Dave has passed away. Never heard of him refusing to help people when asked. Big hole in the modelling world now.

Yes he did go by that name for quite a while. I may be wrong, but I think he also went by Full Leather Jacket at one stage, but my elderly memory may be playing tricks on me.

During his time on the forum, Dave did leave and came back on to the forum under a different name.

Liz Milbourn would like to share the image below in memory of Dave.

When they were clearing out his clothes, her daughter took away Dave's favourite shirt that he had worn for years and his Action R/C Electronics fleece without her noticing it. She then presented Liz with 'Little Dave' made out of his shirt and the fleece and with the Action R/C Electronics logo displayed. As Liz says: ‘Such a lovely idea! so I have my 'Little Dave' now to remind me of the bigger one and he even has the same clothes!’

One could imagine Dave’s comments on this – they would probably include a reference to his favourite glass of Jack Daniels but the rest might have been unprintable!

I’m sure many of us will raise a glass to Dave to mark his funeral on Monday. Webcast details are listed on the earlier post above.

RIP Dave, we’ll certainly miss you.

Colin

I feel sure that Dave would have approved, secretly, but his public comments may well have been, as Colin suggested, unprintable :-)

Yes, I will be tuning in. It is the least I can do for a very good friend. Nobody likes funerals but I think it is important to mark the passing of someone you respect.

I have been pleased to see that the charitable contributions online have recently increased. Dave fell victim to a dreadful affliction and I and others have been very happy to contribute to those agencies who are dedicated to research in fighting cancer and in providing palliative care to those who suffer from it.

Every little helps so if you can only spare a fiver to commemorate Dave by contributing to one of the two listed charities in the earlier post it will really be appreciated. Dave contributed a lot to our hobby and that is the best way to remember him.

Yes indeed, typical Dave, bowing out to the strains of 'Take it Easy' by the Eagles. and 'Wish you were here' by Pink Floyd. He was a one off!
