I have been in the tower crane business for over 34 years. The model is my own design combining capabilities of several types of cranes in the industry. The mast height you see in the photo is one half of the finished height as I made a run of only four sections of mast to see how the jig would work. I have to build four more yet. The jib of the crane will be 12 feet....er......um...Sorry, i forgot where I was at.....3.72m. When boomed straight up the model, with full mast will stand over 6m tall. I still have a long way to go on it and I will need a taller house too.
The car is an original 1929 Ford. the original part is the steel body. Everything else is new. Tube frame, disc brakes, power windows and power doors. I chopped the roof to lower it and filled the soft leather area in the roof with steel. The engine is the Chevrolet 350 cu. in. I don't know what that would be in liters. It is a very common engine amongst enthusiasts here. The carburation is four Italian Dellorto's with one barrel (or venturi) going directly to each of the eight cylinders. It is real finicky when driving in changing weather. I am ashamed to admit, I have not worked on it or had it out in 10 years. I have just drug it around the country on my moves.
Now don't get the idea that i never finish a project. I just like to have several balls in the air at once. :)
PS Martin, what is the file size allowed for photos? I have seen some photos deleted for being too large. I want to play by (most) of the rules.
