Hello!
Built this from and old kit many years ago and did a short log about it here.
Normally she sits on a shelf in the living room but I thought she needed to stretch out a  bit.

Late 1880s to early 1930's?.....appears she had Sisters of Waxholm II & Waxholm III]

Derek, she was built 1899 and had a sister. Waxholm II was built for all year round traffic and ice breaking capability but Waxholm I was rebuilt for that purpose a few years after delivery. They were both recognized as very good ice breakers.
Some alterations to the superstructure were made during the years, bigger wheelhouse, extended salons and glazed aft deck.
Waxholm III was a different design.

That's a beautiful model, and very well photographed. It looks so realistic with the background and mist.
