my first bottle just arrived, not used it before, - viewed the website,

 anyone on here used it and are you prepared to give a non biased evaluation of the stuff ?

Guy, i have used the chrome. give it a good gloss black undercoat, if i remember, then spray. easy. bit it does not like being handled.
dont know wether they do a "varnish", lost interest in the project and never fouind out. but it the "plastic" modellellors swear by it.
You finished the Biber yet? get a move on will you

I found it the same as the other chap, It's good stuff the chrome and looks every bit the part! I too found that it doesn't like being handled much? Take note that there are two types available, one in enamel and the other type in acrylic. I was going to get around to try a Halfords clear varnish over the top on the acrylic version, just not got around to it as yet.

If you try this approach then let me know how you get on!

Tried the Halfords laquer/Varnish. made it go a flat silver grey.

Ah...back to square one then Colin! I've seen chrome paint in B&Q in the plasticote range, how does that stuff compare, you tried it???

I have used it on aircraft. I used different shades of aluminium and duralumin. You must follow the instructions. I varnished it with Johnsons Clear.

plastic guys mention johnson clear alot, so guess it works. never been able to find it on the shelfs though

OK  a quick one here
Johnsons clear was a new product that came out about 18 months before I joined the RN .
I first knew about it during basic training when apart from everything else your boots had to be "bulled" .
Someone had got hold of this stuff and upon wiping it across "nearly " bulled boots they looked like mirrors !
A miracle cure for "bulling boots" !

NOT   the CPO soon learned to find the ones using this stuff and had them ,us ,ME doing pressups in our drill boots until they had to be started over again  :'(

To be frank if this is the same stuff   its a floor shine , not waterproof and ain't gonna last .
Its like a wipe on shine   that really does nothing more than shine for a bit  NOT (IMO) any good at all for boat builds . OK for something that isn't going to get wet or take abuse of any description but to us  now use at all

AAARRGGGHHH, just getting a plan to raid my local B&Q and along you come and ambush it.  :'(best laid plans and all that.
Going to need a chrome finish on quite a few parts of my Atlantic 75 and thoought that was the answer. oh well. worry about that later.

Shane, you've reminded me of battle of Britain parade I was on back in the early eighties, during my RAF days.

The guys in the paintshop found out that varnish sprayed onto toe-caps gave a superb shine, it did look good too. Only thing is you should always make sure you clean your paint gun properly, in sunlight the toe-caps were a lovely shade of purple.
