I bought a Sony Bravia less than a year ago.  Size was a problem!  I wanted a 55 inch screen my better half said, too big!  So we had a 49 inch screen.  This however limits the ''extras'.  For instance no Bluetooth and the audio o/p switches off the speakers.  It is all in place in the s/w of the TV but when checking the menu the 'choice' of sound settings is not allowed.  These settings are all allowed in the 55 inch and above version.

We have a Virgin STB and on the back is an audio o/p.  I feed this to a separate WiFi transmitter and have headphones which work all over the house.  Not the perfect solution as it is only for the STB o/p.  However left tuned as last channel to BBC 24 hour News I can turn the TV off and listen to the news in bed in the morning.
By the way I have hearing aids and my radio / alarm is too loud for others in the household.  My own hearing cuts off at about 4Kilo Hertz and until I had good hearing aids curtesy NHS I could not hear bird song.

I did try all sorts of options and a second purchase of a new 43 inch LG TV 6 months ago had all the choices removed but it was such a bargain I thought it worth it. I was going to use an audio amplifer to improve the sound quality but it was good enough already.
I found that boosting the speech level made a big difference to sound quality for me and the set is in a different part of the house so I am OK with it.
I did have many years ago a WiFi transmitter that worked directly from the sound speakers and transmitted a signal to a set of headphones but they failed many years ago and no one wanted to repair them.
It is a hard world out there!

Hi Regiment I see we both have the same TV.  Mine is a UP not UM but I failed to see a technical difference otherwise.  It is a nice TV and works well for me and you can shout at it to find you programmes!

The audio socket in use does turn off the sound. But do you want sound and headphones or 2 sets of headphones?
I have not tried August but nearly bought a PVR from them..
Try Avantree this is the company that suppied my WiFi transmitter.  Just google Avantree and the company comes up.

They sell a set called Duet which is set up for 2 sets of headphones which work from the TV, if that is what you want.

Hi Jaymac, I do not use headphones on this one.  I went on the Avantree web site and found the product I mentioned called Duet.  They also do a 4 head set variation as well.

I have been pleased with my Avantree headset it has rechargeable batteries lasts quite a long while and is the comfy over ear type.

But my poor hearing would not be able to tell you if they were of good sound quality.  But when I wear them I can hear all speach clearly, as often I lose the first letter of a syllable which is confusing.  Also sibilants are clearer as well.  A year ago my hearing aids were upgraded and this has helped me enormously.

I use the Avantree transmitter in the same room as the WiFi Hub for Broadband transmission they do not seem to interfere with each other.

I've got tinnitus as well but there you go you can't be perfect!

To be fair I have always found LG TV s to be 1st Class, same with their monitors.
I have looked at the model you stated and as far as I can see this will take Standard head phones but you need to take a picture of the back of Your tv, every tv I have will do Blue tooth and wired head phones, 2 of them are LG, one is Jvc.  You should be fine......
If the back looks like this or similar it should be fine.

Why do you need an additional external BT adaptor when this LG TV has an inbuilt/embedded factory fitted at time of manufacture Bluetooth V5.0 unit for free that should support 2 sets of headphones out of the box for $0.....

Or did I miss something?

The original question was could 2 sets of bluetooth speakers be connected independently,BT 5 seems to say you can however regiment has also stated that wired would be preferred. The rest is above.

Hi Longbuild. The TV in question does not have the o/ps you picture.

I have just looked at mine and I cannot find an audio 3.5 mm o/p socket.  I think you either configure the Bluetooth or use an HDMI o/p connector that converts to 3.5mm jack/socket.   believe they are around.  There is an optical o/p I think.
I connect my TV direct with an ethernet connector straight into my WiFi booster for the Internet.

43UM7400PLB try googling this number and looking at the LG website, look for user manual and tell me how you get audio out?  I will also be interested to know!!!
I cannot find a picture of the o/p's in the LG manual to point at where to plug in.
Everything has to be turned on and off through a not too helpful menu.  Once set up and the operating system refreshed it works very nicely.

I think I understand what Regiment's problem is now.

Yes I agree there is no 3.5 socket, and none of my sets have these.

The tv has both Hdmi ports and from what I can see on the picture and audio L/R sockets, you can get adaptors quite cheaply for both to fit a standard headphone socket.

Hi there is no L/R socket in this TV.  There is a satelite i/p my new glasses reveal this is not an optical i/p.  There is 1 HDMI and 1 HDMI arc i/p and a USB i/p.  There is a common i/f and separately an ethernet socket.
To connect to bluetooth headphones select long press of settings button, choose sound, select sound out,and search.

Turn the headphones on and the TV will find the headphones give it a tick then the sound from the TV stops and comes through the headphones.  Register them with the TV just a tick in a box.  Turn the headphones off and the sound returns to the TV speakers.

Next time you turn on your headphones the TV will find them automatically and connect and turn the TV sound off.
See this Youtube video.
LG TV, how to connect Bluetooth headphones (2020 LG

Quite a learning experience for me as I was not expecting how clever the system was.  I think you could register another set of headphones and the same may happen but I am not able to test that.

Hi Jaymac it is nice to know that members rally round when someone else has a problem.
My last post will work for regiment assuming he is confident to use TV menus and settings.  As I said I have an almost identical TV just 6 months old and it was a learning curve for me as well.  I am looking in the family for a no longer used bluetooth set of headphones to try out the system.
I have some linked to another TV via a separate bluetooth transmitter which works from the set top box (Virgin) 3.5 mm audio out and it delivers around the house on a permanent basis.  I do not want to mix them up!

I have to use this system as otherwise my wife cannot listen to the sound if I plug into the audio o/p socket for headphones.  Our previous Panasonic set did not switch off the speakers in the TV when using the audio socket.
The  real problem is we are used to the old ways and no one bothers to tell you that you can still do what you want but it is a bit different now.
I buy my TVs from Richer Sounds, just round the corner from me and the service is excellent and they answered all my difficult questions without reference to manuals etc.

When I bought a CD player from Currys I needed one that played MP3 discs, (audiobooks) the salesman just did not know!
We got a set out that I actually wanted plugged it in and I produced an MP3 disc and it played OK.  The salesman was surprised, you wonder what they teach them!  I bought it (a Sony) and it is very good and unexpectedly it has an audio in socket,  So I can have a Zoom meeting and feed the laptop audio out into my CD player for excellent sound.
However my last Zoom meeting when I joined the s/w turned off my audio o/p socket!!!  Why???  After the meeting I set up a meeting and found the settings and turned the sound o/p back on just hope it stays that way.

So you can see I am not yet a bluetooth convert!

Not surprised the Curry person didn't know. When you look at the plethora of electronics on the home entertainment sections, even a degree in advanced electronics would be found wanting. Remember how the only way to successfully record on a VCR was to give the remote to a seven year old?

Hi Ian I would not have commented on the Curry's person but he introduced himself as specialising in the radio / recorder section where I was looking.  I had to advise in some similar fashion when at work but always asked what was wanted first, to find if it was in my own skill set.
I always check all prices in the retailers and then if possible use the information to my best advantage.  Previously I bought a printer for just about half price as my argument was backed up by a hasty search on the Internet.
If looking for a new TV now there are some excellent bargains to be had.  I find saving £50 or even £100 on a product a good mornings work.

Cheers for now, I have to add ,the way this thread has ended sent me off laughing to a good night's sleep! %% %%

Hi Roy yes it is great the attempts to help I'm in my 80's still reasonably ok on the audio side. Went through the trudging round Hi Fi shops in the 70 /80's with my LP under me arm seen the  vast changes in connections come and go.Always in at the start had video tape recorder before VHS through to dvd recorder  not a wireless fan Either house is like Jodrell Bank. I would agree on Richer sounds are you a VIP  you get some discounts on that

Used to help with repair and installation of B&O electronic equipment and the normal customer nightmare was having to pre program(me) the settings via the all singing and dancing remote control. To alleviate the terror, next to last comment to them was, ' read the manual cos we will be ringing in a couple of days to ask questions on it' and the final and best one was ' If you get into a muggers buddle, switch the set off, unplug it, count to twenty and replug in and switch on. It will have re set to manufacturers original settings. If you call us out to do this it will cost £70' Don't know what the charge would be now, I'm going back 20 years.

Hi jaymac and who ever can advise, nor a million miles from this thread.
I have a bluetooth transmitter direct into my set top box and a matching set of headphones connected to a Sony Bravia TV.  I can hear the STB via headphones anywhere in the house.

Can I also pair this same set of headphones to the bluetooth from the LG TV?  This is in the 'backroom'.

I did not want to experiment for my self as resetting the bluetooth Tx is a hands and knees job!  Otherwise I shall get a second set of headphones.  Either way the thread has been most illuminating into options I would not even be looking for, let alone expecting them to exist!  So thanks to all.

regards
Roy
