Hi Chris,
I've a couple of mp3 files of mid-size (supposedly 3") sounds but they're only single barrel. I honestly can't remember which freebie they came but you're welcome to try them. I;ll only be able to e-mail them I think.Have you tried the Beeb! They were my first port of call but there were loads of others that I found. I just loaded them onto a cheap christmas card type unit from Amazon and then through a small amp and 3inch speaker. Loads of distortion but with gunfire it wasn't too obvious. This one seems to be used a fair amount https://www.forge-electronics.co.uk/index.php/boats/16-ch-sfx.html and then you've got https://www.modelsoundsinc.com/index.php in Canada who are reputedly one of the best.

Hi Chris,

Is this type of sound any good?

How do you want the sound to be triggered? from your RC handset?

To play, click on the web link above and then click on the circle that the green arrow is pointing at (orange circle/white arrow)

Hi Chris, if you post what sound unit you already have as the starting point, someone might be able to tell you how to get the other sound.  You might not even need other external switches.  Don't know if we don't know what you're starting from as a dislike?

Hi Chris,

Like Rich says - collectively we may be able to help you with what you already have...

- What is the unit you already have (make/model)?
- You mention switches - are you wanting to use micro switches to trigger sound (broadside) or flick a switch on your radio to trigger sound?

Hi C-3PO, If Chris can say what speaker he is trying it on also. Engine sound units I have sound like a Scotsman dropping his coin purse* but if they're played through a deep bass speaker it sounds more like steam train spanners hitting concrete.  I imagine Chris can fit a big or heavy speaker for more bass if he can show what's fitted?

*PS: I can make that analogy, I'm Scottish.
