WoW !  Now Sheringham pond is no good…. After spending much - much money on the new boat it looks like I’m going to have to sell it.

What’s with the NEW Sheringham club?  I didn’t know about this, how is it more ATTRACTIVE?

Things can’t get much worse for me - my dear wife has recently fallen and broken her thigh - on her 89th birthday and is in hospital at Queen Elisabeth Kings Lynn, (4 weeks now) and I want her home but she still can’t walk.

Why is Sheringham pond no good?

The previous comment about parking was, I think, at the Norwich club.

I do not understand why Sheringham pond is no good ! The council has recently cleaned and refilled the pond and is very supportive of the modellers that sail there . Cars can be parked within 10 feet of the pond and parking is free . I know some modellers that are very envious of the facilities at Sheringham , I am sorry to hear of your wife's misfortune and wish her a very speedy recovery

Well, it looks as if I’m off on the completely wrong foot ?
As I understood it, said by Donuts, re Sheringham pond the council had recently put up Pay & Display bays in the areas that were previously Free ? And discourage large boats (which I assume to be steam powered)

AM I WRONG ?  I HOPE SO, I’ve asked for more information on THE NEW SHERINGHAM CLUB but haven’t seen any more.

Frequently misunderstood.

Donuts, NO, NO, NO,

Please YOU tell me about Sheringham club, I’ve been away for so long I’m now unfamiliar with all things boating…. Including Sheringham.

Is steam allowed there or not ?
Is parking as it always used to be - Free ?

I have a peculiar problem - due to my age (85) and my physical condition of having half a heart - if I fall I can’t get up and I have an endurance of about 10 steps before I collapse  — none of which are conducive to any sort of boating - model or full size;  I had a Freeman 26’ cruiser for 50+ years on the Thames and Broads operating single-handedly  but due to my heart condition had to sell it 4 years ago.
Prior to all my troubles I was a London Firefighter for 30 years.

Hi Jim , I started Sheringham club about a year ago , some Norwich members sail at Sheringham now because parking is free and unrestricted, all sorts of craft from subs to steam are very welcome , I think the pond is too small for fast electric and internal combustion boats .Most people sail on a Sunday morning from 8am until midday , weather permitting . If you want to go sailing please drop me a line and I will give you as much assistance as you need .

Hi Admiral Donuts, It seems as if I’d got it all wrong from the start and Sheringham pond is as it always used to be ie free parking without boat restrictions (except ICE boats)

Sorry for causing confusion, I very much look forward to enjoying Sheringham pond and meeting you.
