Sorry Bill I have no idea myself but this is the motor I was advised to get to be up to date. I doubt I'll build the kit now but who knows

It was the MFA torpedo 500 with the 2.5/1 reduction. I have one in my version of the kit (Defiant LK ) and it has proved to be entirely successful. Do a wee search on YouTube for MFV Defiant and you’ll see how it performs
