Hi, All
ive remade the spot light that sits above the wheel house on the work boat, construction was done using a cut down plastic marker pen , LED and silver reflective part in the light are from a broken head torch its bracket from pieces out from the scrap tub, wire from and old HDMI cable,it does light up and swivels up and down and rotates sadly not machanically, and to finish it off a lens will be fitted.

Thank you for your kind remarks, its not always easy to try some thing new, but, if you keep at it and use the failures as small gains then the end result will always appear.

Hello All
much of the same pictures here, but, since the last pictures i have taken apart the whole cage/ladder build and filed every piece down to 3mm width and then rebuilt it, WHY, because when i offered it up to my model it looked well out of scale compared to the rest of the bridge/wheelhouse and the GA plan im using for my reference .

Hello, All
to days acheivement has been to complete the severn supporters mast and cage, this is all scratch made and made to the GA plan that i have, its given me many hours of thought on how to put it all together as its all soft soldered and at 1.35 scale its a bit delicate where many of the joint are close to each other, BUT, using Mayhem as my to go to resorce centre there are mant threads to read and grab advice, so i say THANKS to you guys.

Hi All
The mast is almost finished now so its time to add and connect a few lights, first up the standard running lights, these are 3mm LED wired in series, the wire used at mast level will all be the ultra fine stuff from component shop, All the wires will be thread down through a small diameter piece of shrink tubbing running down the back of the mast and then hidden below the deck above the wheel house, then all the wiring will go to its appropriate resistor and finally to a split plug hidden inside the accommodation, fingers crossed any way.

Hi, All
Progress is painfully slow at the moment due to work etc, but after a difficult past few months rubbing the boat down because of a bad paint issue i have finally got the hull looking nice again , pushing ahead now so hoping my progress will be good,

heres a view of some progress this week, and some other parts placed on to aid the picture.
all the deck has been coated light grey rattle can, had to decant the paint because i didnt like the idea of masking all the blue, i found painting with a brush this was very problematic, examples are paint drying too quickly and some brush marks  after some gently rubbing down i finally settled for what i had, so the hull is almost done, :-))

What a great build - So many builders stop when they have an issue such as paint but you kept going and the final result shows.  Gotta love that brass work too!

hi all
i couldnt achieve my idea of hiding the wiring on the brass mast so ive remade the mast using a turned down dowl, grooved out the back edge that i will fill and reshape once im happy with the working lights, i intend to attach the brass ladder aswell.

hi all, ive had some trial and errors with the mast, the nice brass work version didnt quite suit the plan because the tubing used should have been the next size up so i could have put the wires through it, the second attempt i tried my hand at turning down some wood that went ok until i decided to hollow it to put the wires through, trouble struck again, not to be out done ive made one out plastic tube, managed to hide away much of the fine wires still used the brass ladder and cage so once painted i think it will be fine.

Hi every one,
ive had a play around with my 3D printer, ive designed a 10 foot container to 1/35 scale in fusion 360, it took 11 hours to print, it will require a little bit of a clean up but im hoping it will look nice on the deck of my work boat, now im looking forward to designing other bits .

Hi, All
I see the mayhem has gone quite recently, suppose every one is busy in the man cave  O0 , i have, attached pictures are of the small flood lights attached to the top of the wheel house, these are scratch made using my 3D printer for the main light body, recycled LED lights from a kids battery operated car and a bit of plastic for the backing, the size is 13mm these have been tested and now waiting for some paint, these are going to be my last bits of electrical components in Severn Supporter, its maxed out with leccy bits and bobs.

hi, folks
its been some time since ive put any updates on here, but, work has been going on with this build all the spare time i can find, so, im trying out a different photo editing app as well so hope it works, the pic shows a simple mold i had to make for 30 plus old tyres severn supporter has hanging off its sides, my master was pulled off a kids toy which came from a charity shop,
