hi,
i havent used bathroom mastic for my tyres but if you look on you tube some people seem to make them quite well, still have to create a mold though, i have made my mold out rubber molding resin, the tyres are two part rubber resin , i also used a good quality release spray..

Thank you Trucker -
I've been casting lots of lead yacht keels recently in rigid 'plaster' molds and yours looked similar, couldn't figure out how you were able to release etc, all makes sense now - Lol.
very interesting build to follow !

hi all
can some one give me an idea on how i can connect the wire to these, soldering doesnt work, they look as if a crimping tool is required but havent got any that will be small enough  :embarrassed:

With Tamiya connectors soldering has worked for me however, I usesmall  pliers to fold the crimp ends over the wire

thanks for the heads up mate, will try again. in the mean time heres a picture of my way of putting all the common wires together on one bar, all will be pushed up and inside the housing out of sight.

here i have put some thought into making the wiring a little bit neater, all the resistors are encased in a little wooden holder which has been place up inside the housing, hot melt glued to the wall just in case it all needs to be removed at a later date, all wires have been soldered to a plug which will lead down into the hull.

sense of achievement today guys, after many hours working on all the lights for severn supporter i have finally finished and made the connection to 8 channel switcher unit tucked away in the stern, every light has been tested at each phase so its all hooked up to the ailron stick on my spektron dx6i. heres a few pictures showing the final stage.

Hi, All,
I have turned my attention to a bit of brass work to go on top of the monkey deck, its been quite frustrating making this from scratch but there is an end in sight. top rail is brass rod 1.5mm two lower ones are 1 mm , stanchions are cut from a brass sheet and filed to a 2.7mm width, holes are 1mm dia 10mm apart, a small shoulder has been created at the bottom to help the fixing into the deck, total height of 30mm, all has been soft soldered.

hi all
i added the scratch made railings today, didnt quite go as smoothly as i had wanted, unfortunately the 1,5mm top rail isnt long enough so now i have to add a piece, theres no way im going to remake this as it happens thats the length of them all from the packet.

Hi Trucker, I like the way you've extended the toprail - one for the notebook that one is  :-)

Cheers,
