Fascinating bit of archive film of the coastal boat squadron WW1 . Boy could those boats shift, must have been a bowel moving experience . Also launching the torpedo off the stern to chase you so that a sharp turn out of its trajectory was essential.

There is a couple in Portsmouth Naval Base plus a couple in build or rebuild.

Look up Augustus Agar, who went to school just down the road at Framlingham College, and his exploits in CMB's in the Baltic in 1919. Real "Boys Own" stuff. :-))
