Thanks gentlemen but there's a fair amount of work before they're done.

I am sure you have already scanned the horizon to check-out other future "possible" builds  O0

Its surprising how many unusual powerboat designs and shapes that are out there - and you seem to be able to find the most interesting (non Fairey) ones  :-))

Sorry to say the time has come for me to hang up my non-Fairey boots! As I explained to Boob Zooma, it was good fun trying my hand at offshore boats but once built the problem of suitable waters came into being. Frankly, it seems that the options in the East of England are limited so sadly I've put Ultima Dea and Jackie S up for sale. Another factor is, of course, lack of shed space for current and future projects of a more "pootling" nature.
May the Good Fairey be with you ;)

That's a pity Tony, is there a shortage of boating lakes in reasonable distance in your area then? I'd be tempted to keep them as display models.

What are your current and future projects or are they being kept under wraps?

I was going to ask you if you're hanging up your non-Fairey boots whether you'd got any Fairey boots? But I think I know the answer!

Hi Chris,
There's no shortage of waters but not really suitable to run either boat at a fair, scale representation of "offshore" speed and that, I believe, is the point of scale. I went to one of the largest on Sunday. Needham Lake is home to the Gipping Valley MBC and I'm intending to join but there'd be rather lot of traffic, both scale boaty and living quacky %) At the moment neither boat has reached it's potential, so if they don't go I may still play with the performance but I've still got a US patrol minesweeper kit that I'm working on(Pic1), to be followed by the 18th century armed cutter HMS Trial (so named because it was an early example of the dropped keel)(Pic2) and then Hr Ms Koningin Wilhelmena der Nederlandse from drawings I obtained from the Amsterdam Schiffsmuseum donkeys years ago.(Pic3) :-))
And of course, not a Fairey in sight! %%
Cheers
Tony

Hi Tony

It's frustrating when you can't unleash the full potential of your models.

Some interesting pootling around craft there and completely different to your two other builds.

That's lovely. You certainly live in a very nice part of the country. We spent a few days around there a few years ago.

Funnily enough when we go to EH & NT properties etc. I've remarked on many occasions to my wife that the lake would be ideal for model boats!
