Hi Chris,
There's no shortage of waters but not really suitable to run either boat at a fair, scale representation of "offshore" speed and that, I believe, is the point of scale. I went to one of the largest on Sunday. Needham Lake is home to the Gipping Valley MBC and I'm intending to join but there'd be rather lot of traffic, both scale boaty and living quacky

At the moment neither boat has reached it's potential, so if they don't go I may still play with the performance but I've still got a US patrol minesweeper kit that I'm working on(Pic1), to be followed by the 18th century armed cutter HMS Trial (so named because it was an early example of the dropped keel)(Pic2) and then Hr Ms Koningin Wilhelmena der Nederlandse from drawings I obtained from the Amsterdam Schiffsmuseum donkeys years ago.(Pic3)
And of course, not a Fairey in sight!
Cheers
Tony
