propshaft Information
« on: May 12, 2023, 05:03:13 pm »

Hi
can someone confirm when purchasing a Propshaft from a supplier what the dimensions say ( Stainless steel shaft 7 inch long brass tube 4mm threaded/plain
prop shaft tube Dia 8mm, coupling required 4mm plain)

As I cannot get Cornwall Model Boats to answer their phone, I can buy this on line but before I do, does the threaded shaft measure 7 inches or is this the brass tube
I'm confused because their statement in the advert does not have any commas or breaks in it, and can be read as 7 inch shaft as well as 7 inch brass tube, as my model is complete waiting for the correct length brass tube to be fitted I am stuck !!!
can someone help please
Geoff

Quoted lengths are almost always the tube length.

Hi,
If you were looking at this page, for instance, there is a clue hidden in plain sight, just under the description at the top of the page.
https://www.cornwallmodelboats.co.uk/acatalog/Caldercraft-Standard-4mm-Thread-Prop-Shafts-M4.html

"These Propeller shaft lengths are measured in Imperial INCHES. Please Note: Only Tube Size is Shown. The Shaft Length is Approx. 1.5in Longer."

Hope that helps,
Mark
