I am thinking of building a 1/25th scale tug/workboat approx 54inches long but before I embark on this project I was wondering if it would be possible to obtain any scale fittings, handrails stanchions etc. are there any suppliers that stock items of this scale ?

That would be a big heavy model. If you were able to compromise to 1:32 scale then Mobile Marine Models do a comprehensive set of fittings etc.

Yes thank you Colin for your reply. I am having second thoughts about building such a large and heavy model. Getting it from the car (which is only just long enough) to the water would be a major operation in itself. I have bought a model tug from Mobile Model Marine in the past and have been very pleased with it so I think I will go for one of their tugs.

Some modellers use water ballast.....  some with onboard pumps!
