Source of good quality Velcro
« on: August 19, 2023, 04:10:43 pm »

I've just used up the last of my roll of 25mm wide Velcro which was used for securing batteries and Rx etc.

To be honest, it wasn't the best and only just about held things in place.

So any sources of good quality?

Thanks, Chris

I got my last lot from Component Shop. Self adhesive is good if the surface is clean and flat and you leave it a while before using it. The velcro has a really strong grab but I find it wears out pretty quickly if you keep removing and reattaching. Not bad but not prefect.

Just thinking out of the box
If the Velcro has too strong goof a grab, you risk damaging more fragile structures trying to twist and pull batteries etc out.
For some wider components it might be better to cut 20mm stips down to two 10mm strips and put one on each side for stability.
Just thinking is all.

Look on Amazon for 'plastic Velcro'  or  'Dual lock'.

“The Range” normally stock proper Velcro - that’s where I get mine from

Thanks for the replies.

Yeah, that's what I want some proper stuff. I had some and then bought the last roll and its rubbish.

If needs be I shall use small strips.
