Model Kit Recommendation
« on: August 31, 2023, 06:16:21 pm »

Hi,

Since covid my model making has taking a back seat and this may continue to do so for some time.

However... I was just asked to recommend a boat kit for a beginner.

The only one I could think about was the Krick Ro-marin Dolly.... any views/comments on this as an option or any other suggestions would be appreciated

I am by no means an expert and have been contemplating the same, I was looking at:
https://www.slecuk.com/boat-kits/river-police-launch
and:
https://www.slecuk.com/mr-tom

Which look not too complex but a nice model, I had this bookmarked from the thread on wings and wheels, not my photo:

Hi,
My first boat was an Aeronaut Diva, makes a nice model and I still sail it regularly now.
(I did change the prop shaft and coupling though).

Cheers,
Mark

Could recommend a Club 500   O0       But it would cost a mint in glue %)

You might not like what I say, but that doesn't mean I'm wrong.

I found the Aeronaut classic or similar very beginner friendly

The late, great Dave Milbourn commented very favourably on the SLEC Police Launch as a straightforward attarective model.
