Cyclone 15 Electric Motors from the 1980s
« on: September 16, 2023, 04:27:54 pm »

I wonder if anyone can help?

I am looking for the specs of the Cyclone 15 Electric Motor as the plan I am looking at and considering building has one of these to use in the model.   When I have tried to google it I get Dyson motors  %%  .   I don't wish to use a vacuum cleaner for a motor - any help would be appreciated as I am looking for the equivalent brushless motor.

Thank you in anticipation.

If memory serves me correctly and these are quite old they were a 15 turn 540 type motor so any recent car type motor would do. I quite like the ftx550 as pretty powerful but easy to use

Hi John,

I think they were called PARMA Super modified Cyclone motors, the 15 was the number of turns.

cheers gentlemen, this is so much appreciated.   Now off to find an equivalent on the 'old' brushless scene.

I think the Cyclone 15 was a 540 can buggy type motor. There was a Cyclone 20 which used a 550 can motor, and a Cyclone 30, which I think used a 750 type motor. All three were marketed by Model Flight Accessories back in the 1980s/90s.
