Hi All,
on our Ireland holiday I had organized a visit to Wicklow Lifeboat station. Which hosted the last Tyne Class lifeboat and was my favorite for the Tyne and boathouse until I found a solution to build the far longer slipway of Douglas. (see
https://www.modelboatmayhem.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,67839.0.html )
I had a long and fantastic visit at the station, crawled through the shannon and had the idea to build one in 1/20.
After a few days back from Ireland, I joined a few german lifeboat builders for an exhibition/fair (all sizes, all country, not just german liefeboats). One just wrote before "I'll bring a shannon ...".
And so it came (photo 1): 1/12 longer than my boathouse...
Some of you know from facebook, others may guess what happened
Now it's on my workplace in the attic (photo 2) and I'm starting to sale and give away projects I will not finish anymore (a kind of brutal, hard cut to get some space).
I'm happy that I found here at least 2 extrem detaile building reports and also a nice facebook group.Nevertheless, the building will be slow as I have the Tyne + boathouse + slipway and several 1/72 projects still running.
Finally: It all starts with a coffee (photo 3).Best,Joerg
