Hi these next lot of photos are taken with the work done upto June 10th, and while I have been sanding nice and easy  WOW a very big mistake in the planking
as you can see by the photos  I have cut 4 rows out reason being is that they were not sitting very well and putting the shape out and did not glue very well so its wood and you can fix wood
as I have said before its a hobby  so dont cut corners, and dont rush, and dont cover up, I take all these words in from the comments I get and put them into place ok its put me back a week or two but its better right than wrong,It took me just over 2 hrs to cut out etc and sand bits away, wow I was lucky. :-X :-)) :-))

Hi Wallace,

This might be useful in the future.

Victory has been repainted.  I wanted to know the RAL number of her 'yellow occur' colour for my model.  Here is the reply from Andrew Bains, the Deputy Executive Director of Museum Operations at the RN.

" There isn't a RAL colour reference for Victory, nor is there a RAL that comes close.  What we now use on the hull now is mixed to a NCS number
NCS S 3020-Y40R."

So more of a Mediterranean skin tone than pink (i.e. a sun burnt brit second day of the holiday)  {-) not the ubiquitous 'yellow' like I used.

By the way, still haven't sailed my victory yet or modified soveriegn to make her skeg more efficient.

Excellent. Now keep on sanding and filling. When you think it is done, do it again, so that when paint is applied any defects don't show up.

Repairs are looking much better.
Don't forget, lots of filler and smooth sanding before you contemplate putting any paint on..

oooh that makes me feel so much better!
I seem to be going round the fill, sand, rinse, repeat loop far too many times
good to see someone else with lots of putty

and the end result looks amazing!

what putty are you using?
