Good Morning All                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         Just about to start fixing various parts to my tamar wheelhouse ie grills windows stainless steel bridge controls and assorted other parts i know silicnone  is reccomended  for windows is there a preferead silicone for easy application for the windows any suggestions would be apperciated                                                                                                                                        Thanks to all      H W Spary                                             howard66spary

For the windows, have you looked  at Canopy glue?

Agree with Martin, canopy glue is usually the way to go. It is water cleanup so if you get any on the glazing it just wipes off with a damp paintbrush etc. Personally I prefer the Zap version which quite a bit cheaper.

However, I don't think canopy glue is waterproof, just water resistant, so OK for windows but not immersed areas. If it does absorb water it may go white but will normally return to translucent when it dries out again.

Silicone would be waterproof but more risk of getting it on the glazing. I'm sure you will get plenty of other advice on the subject.

You can get two part polyurethane adhesive which is crystal clear, strong and waterproof, but it is rather expensive.

There's uv curing silicone I know of and uv curing acrylic monomer I have used.

Wipe away excess before curing by the supplied led torch. Even after uv activation, you have a limited time opportunity to clean with methylated spirit. This stuff gap fills.

I don't even know if it is epoxy. I've seen oriental vendors describe polyurethane based glue as epoxy. I have not had the opportunity to try it yet.

HOWARD, as asked before will you PLEASE gather all your postings for the Tamar in to ONE ONLY thread.

This is to aid other builders of Tamars to be able to read through your thread to find any information on such.

For people it is very disconcerting  on any topic page to find one post about glue when that could relate to any model, of any type., and is so frustrating for new modellers to find one question about a model when all your other questions or build progress is scattered through page after page on fresh posts each time you want to know something.

PLEASE, gather them all together for good continuours reading and information. IT IS far more readable if all your questions and updates on your build are on ONE TOPIC PAGE like every one else does..
