Hobbywing 1060 speed controller

Hi, I thinking have made a mistake in buying the hobbywing 1060 speed controller. In the manual it states that the speed controller works with Li-po and nimh batterys. So what will happy if I contacted a 12v lead acid battery. Will it blow up or will it run? Anyone know.

chas:
A 3s lipo fully charged is 12.6 volts, and the 1060 is rated for that. A fully charged 12 volt lead acid will be a little more than that but I'm sure that it will be ok, the discharge curve of the two types is quite different and a lead acid battery drops voltage quite quickly. I'd be astonished if you had a problem using it.

SailorGreg:
Yeah, what Chas said.  When the volts arrive at the ESC they just look like volts, whatever the chemistry used to produce them.  You will get different run times, but you won't damage anything.
