The Heng Long one comes with the smaller connector on the battery, but it’s also double the price so can’t see that many people buying it

Mine has the black plug. £12.28 delivered!  :-))

I am working out what to cut away in the deck so that I can get at water etc in the bottom of the hull. I am thinking of cutting out the battery box and altering the top motor bracket so that the battery can go between the motors. I am inclined to leave the plastic under the wheelhouse as it also helps locate the wheelhouse and keep it on the boat.

Has anybody put a seal between the hull & the deck?

Beyond the realms of possibility to change the connectors for cheaper versions?  %)

Yes there is bit if you look inside the hull you will find that it is a small raised area within the hull which mean that it won't work at all well as a drain point.

You really do need access to a "mopping" location.
