Nice try and thank you Mrs Stav, phoned up and got "no products for this boat" so I am hoping the lifeboat men come up trumps, surely someone out there has a set. nemesis

thank you to all who tried to help. I got it sorted at the end. This Mersey has two 850s running 35mm props. I do not like 850s as they are ampy and too heavy and with lead acids even more so. So to brushless. Has anybody got experience with brushless wih this lifeboat as to motor size. I will still run the 35mm props as the boat in real life was not all that fast. Thank you, nemesis

Hi Colin. Thanks for the reply, It is inch to the foot. The weight difference between the 850 set-up and a brushless is vast, so it is brushless that I am looking to. My knowledge of the brushless scene is scant, hence the call for info. thanks again, bill

Hi Nemesis,

The late, lamented, Paul Freshney, previous Editor of Model Boats magazine, built a 1:12 scale Manfred Seivers Mersey kit (23 inches long) and shared the build details with me.

He fitted Turnigy D2822/17 1100 KV motors which he said gave good performance and that would be good enough for me.

Not sure if these motors are still available but you should be able to find equivalents.

Cheers,

Colin

H built a 1:12 scale Manfred Sievers Mersey kit (23 inches long) a
Typo?Sievers kit is 1:20 (your length is right)The motor seems reasonable, I had two D2830 1000KV for it, but sold it before building it because I got a Shannon 1/12 semi kit.
Btw. Manfred Sievers passed away last month.  Not clear and probably low chance that someone will take over and continue.

Yes, a typo - Had a busy day!
Sorry to hear about Manfred Sievers. Paul made several of his kits and really liked them,
