Just finishe my 1/12 scale Atlantic 85 ,mostly scratch built with the exception of the electronics, figures and Graupner outboards , which i cut down and removed the speed 600 and installed brushless outrunners. water test for ballast o.k, but need to get to the pond for proper trials.

Looks great !! would be interesting to share with the parish how you built the hull and especially the surrounding air tanks please?
I'm sure members of Mayhem will find it interesting. Paul.

Hi mrzippy,
Basically the hull is carved from 2 pieces of pink builders foam, sanded  to shape and the fiberglassed with tissue mat. The floatation chambers are 28mm foam pipe lagging with thin plastic strips wrapped around to mimic the chamber joints. all the rest is d rubber for the fender 0.05 mm rubber sheet for the patches, 1mm plasti card and 2.5 mm brass rod for the  frame.

Thanks Destroyer for an interesting reply - liking the builders foam method, result an almost 'instant' hull !
and co-incidence the old fibreglass Models by Design Atlantic started off life with tanks built from pipe lagging. Paul.
