First fixing of 14 booms to the main masts just two left to fit. Later in the build these booms will have many blocks and rigging fitted to them.

Well Stan, this is certainly something different and as you said at the start of this build, diversifying into wood - she's looking good  :-))

Cheers,

The hatch covers on the Scout build now need covering.   I have tried various fabrics without success. My next attempt was to use tin foil puchased from our local Asda. There are two things wrong with that as it's too thin and the foil had a diamond pattern on both sides.  Next stop a catering supplier and new foil purhased which was a little thicker and had no print. It was obvious to give the foil any strenght it would need to be doubled over and glued. The foil is placed on a solid flat surface and cut with a very sharp knife. The glue is applied to the shiny side of the foil.  I used Stabalit Express glue. After the glue is applied, fold the parts together and place on a flat solid surface, run over the foil with a soft tissue and leave to dry.  When the glue has dried you can then glue foil to the the hatch covers.   Leave over night to dry then you can trim off any foil that is not needed. It is advisable to give the foil a coat of etch primer before any further painting. :-)) :-)) :-)) :-)) :-)) :-)) :-))
