lucky bag identity no.3
« on: August 06, 2024, 03:45:38 pm »

and finally, please could anyone identify what this is please, as  Dave Milbourn gave it to me a good few years ago when i had just built my daughter her large Calmac ferry with twin voith Schnieder units, but never fitted.
Dave told me at the time that both units worked but surp[lus to his needs at the time.
could anyone identify that the small P99, and the large open P94 are and what they do, as they are beyond my intelligence to even consider their function.

I know i have been a pain but I thank you all for your help and patience.
cheers neil

Neil,

The P94 is an older version of the twin ESC/Mixer. The latest one is functionally the same I believe. It looks like the 20 amp version, I think as this had heat sinks fitted. The 10 amp version did not.

The P99 is a power regulator which allows ACTion units to be powered from a 5 cell NiMH pack of 6v SLA battery. The ACTion units are OK up to 6v (so you can also use 4 Alkaline cells) but a fully charged SLA battery could be putting out 7 volts or more and can blow the components.

The latest P24 has a battery elimination circuit to deliver 5v to the RX but the older models did not have this.
