Dave Milbourn Fairey Huntress
« on: September 29, 2024, 07:02:01 pm »

Fairey Huntress 23 ’ Maid of Balamory’ built by Dave Milbourn 1:12 scale.

Length 578mm Beam 220mm.

Dave built two Huntress models and he treated this one to super detailing to match the original. The design was enlarged as the basis for the current SLEC 1:8 scale kit.

From the photos Liz has provided, everything is there and the boat appears to be ready to go, just needing the addition of a battery pack. The original was a Giant Power 3S 11.1v 2600mAH but it looks like the equivalent today would be the  2200 pack which appears to have the same dimensions and is available from Component Shop for around £25. (check measurements before ordering).

Motor is a Turnigy 2836/11750KV brushless with a matching speed controller.  Receiver is almost certainly a Hitec one to match the TX (see separate post). The boat also appears to be fitted with a Lithimon 234 battery monitor see http://www.dawnmist.org/lm234.pdf for specification. I believe the rudder servo is a standard HiTec one.

I have seen this boat in action and it has an excellent performance. It can be seen on the Mayhem 2019 You Tube video. It is fitted with a Prop Shop cast bronze 3 blade propeller.

Collection only, either from Hartlepool or by mutual arrangement. Cash preferred. If you are interested then PM me with your email address which I can pass on to Liz to arrange the sale.
