Latest model on the go (actually 1 of 2)started both of them during October 24 , this one is of an American Desco shrimper design  just  52 x 16 x4.75 inch's . The keel ,deadwood , stem areas are of  Colonial teak, the frames from an old pine bed base, the stringers 12 x 3.5 mm  ,ribs 6 x4 mm & planking are beech from kevin Rasmussen ( Kevin gave me a loan of his spare Proxon table saw , in the photo , have been using that to cut the ribs and decking strips of beech only) and the 2 transom  sections of Red cedar from Stuart Cribb, cheers.  :-)) ......

Interesting to see the tools you're using. What's the well used bench saw? The blue one?

Mark T:
Ooh I'm gonna enjoy this one - Looking great so far Brian and the little Proxxon table saw is good tool but I have found them noisy.

Looking forward to seeing this progress and all of the carpentry tips I can learn  - good luck with your build mate  :-)) :-)) :-))

Hi Steve, that saw is a 15 inch planer 'Carba-Tec' made in Taiwan , we bought that early 90's to do a job which never happened ,so it sat in the shed till a few years ago I cleaned it up and respray (different blue) so have only started to use it in the last couple of years...Hi Mark, for the size of them they are noisy ,but found if I am going to cut more than a couple of strips I will hook the vacuum to it ,that solves the noise of it as you can't hear it for the noisy vacuum cleaner  and keeps it cool other wise it cuts out.
With these photo's all the stringers in and garbed planks attached then steaming the ribs and letting them set in the jig, the last shot showing her all ribbed up , and the start of the beamer ( which I will put up) cheers ..

Hi there , this next section of photo's planking ( 4 mm) her , glued and screwed , after the screws removed on each frame as usual used bamboo dowels, then after filling with Plasti Bond and sanding ,she was given a good coat of wood preserver ,cheers . :-)) .......
