Elecronize FR30 HX
« on: January 28, 2025, 12:26:40 pm »

Hi Everyone,
I am using the following set up in my tug (Electronize FR30HX ESC, T12 MMM motor, 12 volt SLA battery, running through a Component shop P92 power board with supply for the receiver, Spektrum TX/RX) and as I have not used an FR30HX before I would like to ask a couple of questions to make sure I don't blow the RX or ESC. The tug is single screw so only one motor plus the lights I intend to fit, I normally have twin screw boats and would set up the electrics as follows- 2 motors, 2 ESC's, P102 or P92 power board, Spektrum radio gear, as the receiver gets powered from the P92 and the ESC's have BEC'S I pull out the red supply wire from both ESC's to stop excess voltage to the RX. The questions I have are- am I correct in thinking that the FR30HX does not have a BEC? Then, as the receiver will get power from the P92, do I still need to pull out the red power lead from the FR30HX before connecting it to the receiver or will it be okay left in place?
Thanks for your help guys, it will be much appreciated.
                Kind Regards,
                     Pete.  :-)) :-)) :-))

No BEC.  Leave all wires connected via RX.  See attached link.

 Hi Doc,
Thanks for that it explains everything nicely. Stan you were spot on  ( brilliant with wiring ) I did what you told me to do connecting the battery only to the ESC and no light on the RX, I then checked the RX with a 5 volt battery pack and the light came on so all good. Doc sent me a link which confirms what you said, now I can finalise all the wiring.
Thanks everyone for your help, very much appreciated.
                       Cheers, Pete.  :-)) :-)) :-)) :-)) :-)) :-)) :-))
