Most of the jobs have now been done on the boats, with finishing touches going to be done over the next few days as and when parts are finished, including the two stands for them.

And I must say, I have really enjoyed building them,
.Hope it has enthused others to get hold of the 3 D printed hull from Liam Bell, and give it a good go and build a nice little boat.

Getting very close to finishing these two little crackers, I thought I'd better construct two stands  for them to sit on to, and look proud.

And so this afternoon pulled out a piece of an old cabinet drawer and made two.

They can now sit there proud and show what they are, RNLI Lifeboats, ready to save life at sea.................well I can at least imagine they do!

Well. back to the D Class boat, the first of the 2 sets of transfers has been done for me, and including the setting up and the artwork that the Art shop  owner took to do them, nearly 2 hours, I thought his time was well spent.

They look well and fit nicely, and after fitting mine I have 3 sets left if anyone is building one to  Mariner engine specs

Well, as i had no more time at the moment to "mess" around with buying and fitting radio gear into the rib for a bitter summer fun sailinmg, 4 weekends ago I drove over to  the East coast north east of Hull and picked up a lifeboat model of Whitby Waveney lifeboat from a lovely elderly man that had made a wonderful job of building it.

I was very impressed with his build quality, and even more impressed and humbled that he had been coxswam of the actual boat from Whitby in his younger life. And am proud to own it.
I took it down to New Brighton last week for my friend Dave Howard to fettle the electronics and he sailed it........so a good birthday present for me from myself for next week, and i just might take it out for a sail.
