Battery/Charger conumdrum
dougal99:
I have 5 LIPO batteries, 7.4v 2200mAh, which were kept on storage charge for some months. When I came to charge them up for the Mayhem weekend the charger complained that one cell was below voltage. The same result for all the batteries. However, the batteries all showed 7v+ and every cell shows 3v+. Attempting to charge a smaller capacity battery which has been at the back of a drawer for several years, worked OK.
So I now have a problem, Is it the batteries, but why? Or is the charger, which charges my Nimhs OK, on the blink?
Any ideas or advice please

Start charging the batteries without the balance lead connected for about a minute.
Turn off the charger and reconnect the balance lead.
Start charging again.
I found this works for me !!!!

Harry, thanks for your interest. However, I tried charging with and without the balance lead and as I said previously the cell tester showed no cell was down.
As the cheapest option I obtained a new battery. Attempting to charge that gave the same error. Conclusion, the charger was on the blink. Remedy buy a new charger
Result all my batteries charged OK.
Martin, I hope that resolves your puzzlement.
