Hi tassie48
If it's that small you need to find some one who have a resin printer, if you have the files I could do it, but I guess that it's costly to ship from Denmark to New Zealand.
If you are on Facebook you could see if somebody can help you locally. Or check if there are a FB group where you can ask for help to get it printed.

I agree, a resin printer can achieve some very fine detail.

Reading the post, it doesn't sound like it's 3d printing they're after.

That's right. Sounds more like flat surface graphics. Perhaps we could hear more details.  I'm in NZ and have a resin printer but may not be in a position to set it up for a job right now.
Happy to get in direct communication.

Cheers

That's how I see it, flat graphics for compasses etc. with the problem being white printing is needed.

It's easy enough to print white on black. White paper, and print the black. Inkjet printer on photo paper will give a sharp image.

Hi crew looking at a decal White on clear like the decal / Transfer on model planes transparent type with white numbers do appreciate all the ideas and input ,one problem I have is the gun tubs are different sizes the 40mm bofors are 184 mm in Dia and the 20mm oerlikons are two different shapes ,same with the three Mk51 Gun Directors again three different sizes my original idea was to cut and shut them to fit the purposes which mucking about it seems to work .Been a detail nut looking at perfection mainly because at 1/24 Scale you see a lot of detail onboard at just over two meters long the LCS (L) (3) 52 is a good size again really appreciate the help tassie48

Sorry, I did not follow all this. Nothing can be "184 mm in Dia" on the model. Is there  decimal point missing? Are the parts with lettering etc exposed or covered in clear plastic/glass? I'm not familiar with military boats so don't known what the part is you want to make. But as said earlier, any image - like dials numbers etc - can be printed on paper, white on black (or any colour). If exposed it could be clear coated. Are you able to create the art work yourself?

Google "Custom water slide decals white". There are plenty of custom makers and some must do white on clear.

Hi perhaps a  vinyl cutter (cricut or similar) might do the job if you can find someone who has one (facebook?). They can cut very fine detail in any colour of vinyl which is fairly easily placed wherever needed using transfer tape.

I used some 'water slide transfer paper' for a regular printer.
Comes in 'clear' and 'white' - i can see both inkjet and laser printer versions online on ebay and ali express; on Ali it's 'waterslide decal transfer paper'.
I used both clear and white - the laser version to be sure ink wasn't water soluble.
For the white, i printed black on the white and cut round what i wanted to be a different colour with a scalpel - so the underlying colour ( red in this case) shows through.
the pic shows use of both clear (on yellow) and white (on red funnel) paper.  model is 1:40 scale.  if you look closely it's not perfect, but did the job for me. hope it helps.

I do this stuff quite often for my plastic aircraft modelling. As I build WhatIf models, those that the real world manufacturers never actually got around to building,  :-)  I often need to print new decals for them, thus developing my home printing skills.

As JohnG suggests, there are many suppliers of decal paper for both types of printers, and with both clear and white backgrounds. The problem is determining the wheat from the chaff as some papers are miles better than others, and finding out which is which can be expensive and frustrating. One thing you do need is a good varnish for the decals if you use an inkjet printer as the inks are almost always water soluble, NOT a good move when you have to soak them in water to get them off the backing paper! I believe varnish isn't needed with laser printed decals, but as I've never used one I can't say that with 100% authority.

I've always used 'Keen Crystal Clear'  varnish for this and usually had no problems with it, but you do need 3-4 coats to fully 'proof' the decal. It's not easy to find in the UK as Keen have no official UK supplier, but various folk sell it on ebay still.
