Anyone recognize this HMS Kent?
« on: July 14, 2025, 01:09:09 pm »

Recently acquired from an antique type shop via a friend. It was obviously a kit as various bits of wood have part numbers on them. Twin props, single rudder. Despite it's looks it is still watertight.

hi there,

I think this could possibly be a kit from round about the 1970s - have a look at this advertisement.

I think you are spot on John. What can be seen of the stand matches what I have and the radar aerial also looks the same. Now to find a Wessex!

I’ve seen an about three come up for sale on EBay and Facebook in the last few weeks, for the era of kit it looks very smart. There’s one for sale not far from me on Facebook, might be tempted by it!

Revell do a 1/44 scale Wessex, or they did do anyway, and that's quite close.

And Mark 1 Models do one that scale as well, in fact they do ALL versions of the Wessex.

OK, so I miss-typed, it's 1/144 scale!
