The winter season to come from around December will be very hard by the north wind for RC model boats even in our local lake. <:(   And the initial trial run possibly in the month may encounter such scenes as in the pics below.... :(( <:( 8) :o :o
I wonder if she would perform a good job as a patrol boat model as her seniors have done well as in the pics.... ;) ;)

Excellent photos, Kiyo! Our club pond is situated in a valley, surrounded by trees. I never have experienced such fierce waves as you have documented here. Besides that our pond is a lot smaller…

I'm so glad you like them, Arno.!!  :D :-)) :-))
Happy or unhappy, our local lake is so large for RC boating and I have been facing dangerous experience sometimes by my tiny errors and confidence.  :embarrassed: {-) {:-{

Like a flying fish on the rough surface of the lake.... {-) {-) {-) :-)) :-)) :-))

Well, under such circumstances, sailing a model is a different level compared to what I am facing over here :o  The only difficulty I usually come across is that other models nearly collide with mine, there seems to be some sort of magnetism {-)

Oh gee.., it's also dangerous in another meaning as if it was some sort of traffic accident on the road... {:-{ {:-{
 In our case, once the lake gets calm, the boats also respond to the circumstances accordingly with their sailing behaviour from tomboys to
the noble ladies(or najade ?) of the lake at once....!!! %% %% %%   Not to say,"Amazing grace" {-) {-) {-) {-) {-)
If the lake is mirror-like surface, the boat will follow the condition accordingly as in the pics... O0 O0

Well done, Kiyo! I have at least one hair of our dog on each model O0 {-) Mosquitos are no problem over here fortunately.

Mosquitos are big problem for me who work outdoors under their attacks always in this season, Arno. :embarrassed: :D >:-o >>:-(
I already have been "injured" around mainly my legs by close to ten points in each leg. So itchy around the bitten parts by them.. >:-o >>:-( :-X   The more frequently I scratch the parts bitten, the itchier they will be... <:( 8) :-X >:-o
I put 3 sets of mosquito coils around the work bench this day by which provoking mosquitos were repelled nearly completely. :-)) {-) {-)

After sanding the hull, I painted the base color of grey like present Japan Navy color.
I have to be careful for the recent lowering outdoor air temperature... O0
I wish to make a maiden voyage with a Santa before Christmas like this Chris Craft Constellation as in the following pics. :-)) :-)) %% %% %%

Looking good, and the inspection by some members of the crew seems to be ok as well {-)
What paint make do you use?

The paint is acrylic of "Creative Color" brand of Asahipen Corporation of Japan, which I ordered from Amazon.
This is for hobby and inexpensive and easy to use when spraying. I have been using this brand of spray cans for my electric plastic-based model boats up to today.  :embarrassed: :-))  But the color used below the water line appears to be better for lacquer-based paint. O0

acrylic based is what I use as well… Tamiya spray cans have become very expensive over here. Tamiya paint can be used down to about 15 degrees Celsius with good results, that is why I currently use it for the fittings of my SS Falcon build.

Hi Kiyo.
We also get them bad here sometimes. Have you tried rubbing the inside of a banana skin on the bite.......seems to soothe and reduce the itch.
Works for me.

Hi littoralcombat,
Thank you so much for an information on the interesting and unusual method against itchy problem bitten by provoking mosquitos. <*< 8) >:-o {-) {-)   I wonder how you have known such a strange method as to use banana skin... :D :D
Ok, I'll try that method next time when I am attacked by the mosquitos that may survive the powerful mosquito coils guarding me around the work bench like AA guns. {-) {-) {-)

This itch-relief named "Kinkan" is so famous across Japan and I have it in our living room. :-))

I drew the water lines as in the pics today.
It was 24degreec C here in Tokyo and may have nice days in next week for spraying the hull bottom in black. :-)) %)

And Pics for today are of a service tray for changing batteries and adjusting ballasts so as to be best set in the hull at the boating site briefly . O0
It is not so suitable to spray the hull due to cloudy and/or rainy wet weather here in Tokyo today. {:-{
It is getting colder in these days rapidly and the air temperature is supposed to rise up to around 20 degrees C at the highest today.

A clever solution with that hinge, Kiyo! I never had thought about that before and will keep it in mind for future projects :-)) ;)

Thank you, Arno.!!  :-)) As you know well, a maintenance-ability is one of the most important to enjoy a happy boating on the site.
It will be irritating for me unless a smooth and easy maintenance of the boating is secured on the boating pit. O0 :-))

Especially for the happy boating together with club members who normally are eager to sail their own boats positively, a good and smart service-ability is indispensable. O0 :-)) :}
Sailing in a calm day under the Mt.Fuji observation 100km(63 miles) away is awfully satisfactory to me, as a RC boater as in the following pic. :-)) :-))

What a beautiful sight from your lake! Next Sunday I will bring my daughter and son-in-law to the Frankfurt airport where they will start their honey moon journey to Japan! They will visit various areas of your country.

Arno,
Congratulations for you first, your daughter and her fiance.!!!!!!  :-)) :-))  I easily understand how you feel sooo glad to see them to the airport. !!! O0 O0 :-)) :-)) :-))  Even I can't help wishing their eternal happiness to start from the honey-moon trip to Japan where I live. O0 %% :-)) :} In this sense,I am also happy that Japan is selected for their honey-moon trip.!!! :-)) :-))

Japan is typically such a country as in the pic below, namely beautiful nature like typically Mt.Fuji and cherry blossom and advanced technology like "Shinkansen"bullet trains that have 61 year-long history of safe and accurate operations with no human loss up to today. :-))
Please tell them to enjoy the trip in Japan from the bottom of their hearts.!!!

Very many thanks Kiyo, I have passed your post onto my daughter :-))  She told me about her positive railway experiences during her last visit, a lot better than the railway in Germany. She has already bought the tickets for the actual trip.
I did not want to hijack your thread, so please get back to your build log {-)

OK, Arno, I'll get back to my build log, but my digression from the main theme is also an indispensable part of my log. {-) {-) :D

It's a rainy day today and I'll post the kit contents besides the main hull as follows.
All that I have to do is applying primer-surfacer, sanding to get smooth surface and coloring followed by final gluing. %%
This will be suitable for a lazy and clumsy modeller like me.!!! {-) {-) {-) {-) :-)) :-)) :-)) :-))

I decided to set simulated window glasses for wheel house windows and did it concretely in the way shown in the pics below. O0
I simply applied sticky gloss sheets to the places. {-) {-) {-)
Before that process, it was a bit troublesome to remove moulded-in window wipers thoroughly, not to say neatly. {-) {-) {-)

The window wipers will be set simply as semi-scale basis in the next stage. :}

Arno, we had snow yesterday for the first time this year at Mt.Fuji where has become that famous snow-capped profile as posted some days before. Your daughter can afford to enjoy the landscape when passing with the Shin-kansen bullet trains on her right side from Tokyo. :-)) %%
